EDITORIAL

January 2023 started in a hurry to recover

the time delayed by the pandemic and we would

like to take this opportunity to wish you all a

very happy new year to come. Before setting new

goals and preparing new agendas for the current

year, let’s take a step back and summarize last

year’s pursuits that BDS Journal accomplished,

the processes that were set, policies that were

set, and goals that were dened to shape our

successes in 2023.

Last year the new publisher CUBO brought us

a huge development in terms of speed and quality

for our editorial process. It had its challenges and

many wins. Let’s gather all the accomplishments

that helped boost our spirit to do better each

day including new rules such as: the change

to continuous publication among the issues,

new academic and assistant editors, new PDF

configuration containing ORCID presented for

each author, regulatory statement, the contribution

of the authors. This noticeable improvement in

our journal was only possible with weekly online

meetings among the editors and the open access

support through the new Article Processing Charge.

The scientic community believed in our

work and its contribution to our development

was incredible. We published on time 95

papers amongst original articles, systematic

reviews, critical reviews, case reports, short

communications, and editorials [1-6].

The Annual Citescore index on SCOPUS

database jumped from 0.3 to 1.5 (a growth of

5X), and we are now in the 77th position in the

Dentistry eld.

To celebrate its Jubilee (25th anniversary)

this year, BDS has just published a special issue

with peer-reviewed papers from its editors and

collaborators.

Relishing success and learning from

difculties, we are even more motivated to create

greater goals and objectives for ourselves with the

mission of taking BDS journal to higher levels.

EDITORIAL

Janeiro de 2023 começou com pressa para

recuperar o tempo atrasado pela pandemia e

gostaríamos de aproveitar para desejar a todos um

feliz ano novo que está por vir. Antes de denir novas

metas e preparar novas agendas para o ano atual,

vamos dar um passo atrás e resumir as atividades

do ano passado que o BDS Journal realizou, os

processos que foram definidos, as políticas que

foram estruturadas e as metas que foram denidas

para moldar nossos sucessos em 2023.

No ano passado a nova editora CUBO nos

trouxe um grande desenvolvimento em termos de

agilidade e qualidade em nosso processo editorial.

Teve seus desaos e muitas vitórias. Vamos reunir

todas as conquistas que ajudaram a impulsionar

nosso espírito de fazer melhor a cada dia incluindo

novas regras como: a mudança para publicação

contínua entre os números, novos editores

acadêmicos e assistentes, nova conguração do

PDF contendo ORCID apresentado para cada

autor, normativa, o contribuição dos autores. Essa

notável melhoria em nossa revista só foi possível

com reuniões online semanais entre os editores

e o suporte de acesso aberto por meio da nova

Taxa de Processamento de Artigos.

A comunidade científica acreditou no

nosso trabalho e sua contribuição para o nosso

desenvolvimento foi incrível. Publicamos

pontualmente 95 artigos entre artigos originais,

revisões sistemáticas, revisões críticas, relatos

de casos, comunicações curtas e editoriais [1-6].

O índice Citescore Anual na base de dados

SCOPUS saltou de 0,3 para 1,5 (um crescimento

de 5X), e agora estamos na 77ª posição na área

de Odontologia.

Para comemorar seu Jubileu (25º aniversário)

este ano, o BDS acaba de publicar uma edição

especial com artigos revisados por pares de seus

editores e colaboradores.

Saboreando o sucesso e aprendendo com

as diculdades, estamos ainda mais motivados a

criar metas e objetivos maiores para nós mesmos

com a missão de levar a revista BDS a patamares

mais elevados.
