Avaliação eletromiográfica e eletrovibratográfica antes e após o tratamento da desordem temporomandibular

A patologia muscular pode ser conseqüência de um efeito coprotetor que afeta a atividade elétrica do músculo com a presença ou não de ruídos articulares. Para verificar essas alterações foram tratados cinco pacientes com comprometimento muscular e com desordens inflamatórias na ATM. Através da eletrovibratografia verificou-se que os ruídos articulares diminuíram sua intensidade vibratória com o tratamento. Enquanto que a eletromiografia mostrou que o músculo masseter aumentou sua atividade elétrica durante a mastigação e apertamento dental e o temporal diminuiu, em pelo menos um dos lados do paciente. Contudo as diferenças encontradas não são estatisticamente significantes.Downloads
