Influência da remontagem na alteração da dimensão vertical de oclusão em próteses totais

A remontagem é um procedimento importante após a confecção de próteses totais, pois visa restabelecer tanto a oclusão como a dimensão vertical de oclusão (DVO) determinada para o paciente durante o tratamento. O objetivo desse trabalho foi avaliar a influência da fixação dos modelos com diferentes materiais durante a remontagem de próteses totais, bem como o efeito da remoção e reposicionamento da placa de montagem do articulador semi-ajustável sobre a DVO nestas próteses. Os resultados evidenciaram aumento vertical variável após a fixação do modelo na matriz de gesso da placa de montagem, sendo o aumento máximo encontrado de 0,23 mm. A análise comparativa entre os dados não revelou influência do tipo de material utilizado para remontagem do modelo sobre a DVO. Com base no coeficiente de correlação de Spearman, não foi possível relacionar a remoção e reposicionamento da placa de montagem do articulador com a alteração da DVO, uma vez que existiu uma grande variabilidade entre os valores encontrados.
