Avaliação mecânica das cerâmicas IPS-Empress 2 e In-Ceram Zircônia

O objetivo deste trabalho foi comparar a resistência à flexão em três pontos e a resistência à tração diametral do material de infra-estrutura dos sistemas cerâmicos IPS-Empress 2 (Ivoclar) e In-Ceram Zirconia (Vita). Para a realização do experimento, foram confeccionadas dez amostras de cada material para o ensaio de flexão (25mm x 5mm x 2mm) e 15 amostras para o ensaio de tração diametral (6mm x 3mm). Os testes foram realizados em equipamento MTS 810 (Material Test System - EUA), com célula de carga de 10kN e velocidade de 0,5mm/minuto. Os resultados, após testes estatísticos de Mann-Whitney, mostraram que o In-Ceram Zirconia (434,17 MPa) apresentou maior resistência à flexão em relação ao IPS-Empress 2 (230,80 MPa). Entretanto, observou-se maior resistência à tração diametral do IPS-Empress 2 (175,41 MPa) em relação ao In-Ceram Zirconia (151,11 MPa). Pode-se concluir que a relação entre as duas propriedades não é a mesma para os materiais estudados e que a decisão pela indicação de um material não pode ser baseada em apenas uma propriedade mecânica.Downloads
