Aderência às células epiteliais bucais e hidrofobicidade de Fusobacterium nucleatum isolados de humanos e macacos Cebus apella

O objetivo deste trabalho foi estudar, em termos comparativos, a aderência às células epiteliais bucais e a determinação da hidrofobicidade celular de Fusobacterium nucleatum obtidos da cavidade bucal de humanos e de primatas Cebus apella. Foram testados 49 isolados de F. nucleatum de pacientes com doença periodontal; 21 isolados de indivíduos periodontalmente sadios e 10 isolados de macacos. A maioria dos isolados de F. nucleatum, independentemente da origem, aderiram moderadamente 30% a 50%), sendo que os isolados de pacientes com doença periodontal apresentaram maior capacidade de adesão às células epiteliais bucais. Os isolados mostraram-se, em sua grande maioria, hidrofílicos, não se observando diferença significativa entre os isolados de humanos e C. apella (P=0,189). Não houve correlação significativa entre hidrofobicidade celular e adesão às células epiteliais bucais.Downloads
